A work accident is an event that occurs in one of the situations listed in the Law No. 5510 in the working life of the person and renders the insured physically or mentally disabled.
Work accident cases listed in Law No. 5510 are as follows:
> While the insured is at the workplace,
> Due to the work carried out by the employer
> When the insured working for an employer is sent to another place outside the workplace as an employee, without performing his/her main job,
> During the time allocated to the nursing woman insured working with a service contract to give milk to her child in accordance with the labor legislation,
> During the insured's travel to and from the place of work with a vehicle provided by the employer,
> If he works independently on his own behalf and account, because of the work he is carrying out
are events that occur.
Who are the Insured Covered by Work Accident Insurance?
> Employees with a service contract (4/a)
> Self-employed and village and neighborhood headmen (4/b)
> Employees in Penitentiary Institutions and Prisons
> Candidate apprentices, apprentices and interns,
> Disabled Persons of War and Disabled Persons
> Turkish Employment Agency trainees
> Turkish workers who are taken to be employed in workplaces abroad by employers undertaking jobs in countries without a social security agreement
> Intern students
> Insurance holders who work in agriculture and forestry works on a temporary basis with a service contract
By Who and How Should Work Accident Situations of Insured Employees (4/a) Subject to Service Contract be notified?
The notification of work accident cases of the insured employees who are subject to a service contract should be made by their employers. Work accident of employers;
To law enforcement ——–> Immediately
They must notify the Social Security Institution ————–> within three business days of the event.
